MOTHER FARM

I went to MOTHER FARM with my family today. MOTHER FARM is famous entertaiment farm in Chiba prefecture. Now,my sons have Spring Break and want to go to the farm. The purpose of our family was milking experience and seeing field mustard.

It was very fine today. My sons were pleased to experience many thing.

The cherry blossoms are not in full bloom. I think it is next weekend to be in full bloom here.

Boston Redsox vs Oakland Athletics Opening Day 2008

I went to Tokyo Dome to see Boston Redsox's Opening Game in 2008.I hope Dice-K pitches very good. But he is not very good. He gave many walks. It was same last year. We were disappointed, but Redsox got even in the ninth inning with a homer and won in the tenth inning.

I was pleased that Okajima became winning pitcher.

Boston Redsox vs Hanshin Tigers (3/22)

I went to see "Boston Redsox vs Hanshin Tigers" in Tokyo Dome today. I went to there with my oldest sun. he has never seen baseball in ball park. I think he got good memory. Boston Redsox won this exhibition game. David Ortiz and J.D.Drew hit Homeran in first.


2007 World series champions Trophy was displayed.

Yoshinoya restart selling Gyudon 24 hours

Yoshinoya is the most popular company to sell gyudon(beef bowl) in Japan. Yoshinoya Gyudon's feature is cheap,quick,good taste. In particular, it is loved young single man. When I was a college student, I used to go to Yoshinoya. 24 hours opening,cheap,good taste,quick and feeling full, there are good for student.

Some years ago, Japan were deflation. Yoshinoya and McDonald's was competing to decline price. Yoshinoya was famous Leading fastfood company. But BSE(Mad Cow Disease) incidented in USA. ALL changed.

Yoshinoya imported all beef for Gyudon from USA. They couldn't sell Gyudon,but they didn't change ingredient to prevent changing taste. They were bunkrupt before,because of changing ingredient. They choosed waiting resumption of US beef imports.

They were symbol of BSE Problem and argument of resumption. They insisted on resumption. In December 2005, Japan agreed resumption. While some welcome the resumption, others still question the safety. I was very surprised to see U.S. ambassador eating Yoshinoya Gyudon on Television.

Yoshinoya restart selling Gyudon gradually, and They restart today fully.

Dice-K(Daisuke Matsuzaka) will be starter of Opening Game.

Boston RedSox's Daisuke Matsuzaka(Dice-K) will be starter of Opening game in Tokyo Dome(3/25). Starter of Opening game is team's ace pitcher. So I am pleased and proud to see his pitching of Opening game in Japan(Of course I know Beckett is ace pitcher).

But this is little pity. I bought the second game ticket in Tokyo Dome(3/26). I believed Dice will be starter of second game.

It is said John Lester will pitch the second game. I would like to see Okajima and Papelbon.

McDonald's Happy Set (Naruto's goods)

My sons like Japanese Ninja anime "Naruto Shippuden" very much. If we buy McDonald's Happy Set this week, We can get Naruto's goods.

They insist on going to McDonald to buy Happy Set today. We go to McDonald and get three Naruto cards, two Rasengan balls(Naruto) and a Sharingan scroll(Sasuke).

My youngest son hopes to get Naruto card. But he gets Rock Lee, he feels disappointed very much.

They are very noisy now. There are many Naruto who has ability to use Rasengan in my house.

By the way, Recentry, Japanese Yen are strong versus the dollar. I have heard Big Mac Index of The Economist. It is comparing two currency value. Japanese Bic Mac price is 280Yen(about 2.8US$). Which is this price high or low comparing your countries price?

Happy Set price is 400 yen (about 4$).

"Kibo" Japanese Experiment Module

　Japan take part in International Space Station (ISS) Plan. Now, Japanese Experiment Module "Kibo" is being installed at ISS. It was launched by Space Shattle "Endeavour" at March 11th. This construction continues untill April 2009.　Kibo means "hope" in Japanese.

　When I was a child , I like space. I like reading space books. Stars life, Galaxy, Big Bang and Black Holls. There are amazing for me. In Japan, There are many anime related space. In particular, I like Space Battleship Yamato and Mobile Suit Gundam. Of course, I like Star Wars,too.

　I pray the construction of Kibo is success. If the results of experiment is good , many people is interested in Space. I hope that many children know Space and have dreams. They can do many things future.

I received TOEIC ADMISSION TICKET

Today,I received TOEIC ADMISSION TICKET. I have schedule to take the TOEIC test on March 23rd. But I think I don't prepare for the test veru much. I am doing Extensive Reading and iknow!(website of studying English). But I don't like doing English Grammar. So I feel uneasy to take the test.

I wish I could be my personal best score!


TOEIC is "Test of English for International Communication". This test is taken by 1,500,000 people every year in Japan.

Boston Redsox vs Oakland Athletics in Tokyo Dome

This year, Boston Redsox and Oakland Athletics will come to Japan for opening baseball game. I am looking forward to their arriving.

I like watching Major Leage Baseball. In Japan, MLB are broadcasted in the morning, because of the time difference. I often watchi MLB on Saturday and Sunday morning. Last year, Many Japanese baseball players were active. I cheered for them.

Daisuke Matsuzaka(Dice-K) and Hideki Okazima belong to Boston Redsox. I thought I have to go USA, if I want to see them in the baseball park. So I am pleased to see their play in Japan.

I have already bought two games ticket. These tickets are Boston Redsox vs Hanshin Tigers(3/22) and Boston Redsox vs Oakland Athletics(3/26). I will go with my oldest sun. We are looking forward to watching these games.

I have cheered Hanshin Tigers for 30 years. Hanshin Tigers's hometown is Kobe and Osaka. It is one of the most popular baseball team in Japan. New York Yankees pitcher Igawa and Cecil Fielder belonged to Hanshin Tigers before.

Origami Shuriken

　My sons like Ninjya. They always play as a Ninjya and like watching Japanese Ninja anime "Naruto". When they play as a Ninjya ,they use Ninjya tools. For example, News Paper Ninjya blades and origami shurikens.

　This picture is the origami shurikens which is made by my children. They make these shurikens themselves. They play throwing these shurikens.

　My sons like playing as a Ninjya. So I have to play with then.

　It is so hard work!! My sons so seriously to fight!!!!

Hinamatsuri (Hina Doll Festival, Girl's Day)

Hinamatsuri is a traditional event in Japan. We pray girls healty growing. So we do hinamaturi every year in March 3. This event has been since Heian period(AD794～1185).

I don't have girl , but my wife likes Japanese traditional events. So, We set up Hinaningyou(Hina Dolls) and eat Chirashi sushi and drink amazake(traditional sweet, low-alcoholic Japanese drink).

This picture is our Hinaningyou(Hina Dolls). They are Emperor and Empress in Heian period. They wear Heian Period's Kimono.

We didn't buy Hina Dolls. Last year, My wife brought only two Dolls from her parent's house. This Dolls was bought for praying her healty growing about 30～40 years ago.

She loves these Dolls very much.

This book is very famous in Japan.

First, The film of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" is popular in Japan. And Johnny Depp is one of the most popular movie actor in Japan. We know this book is movie's original.

Second, This book is recomended for studying English. If you can read this book in English, you may read other paperbacks. If you feel so hard, you should read more easy books. For example, penguin readers.

When I started reading English book , I choose my first book "Holes". But I want to read this book. And I could read this book yesterday.

I like this wonderful and interesting story. I particularly like Grandpa Joe. When he hear Charlie gets the Gold ticket , He is so glad. I think he is the most interesting to see Chocolate Factory. I think he has child's heart.

And I like his yelling.

SSS Extensive Reading Method (In English)

This method spreaded in Japan some years ago. Many people studying English do this method.

SSS has the mean "Start with Simple Stories". This method recomend to start reading "Graded Readers" or "Leveled Readers". For example, "Penguin Readers","Oxford Bookworms".

SSS Extensive Reading Method

I am studying English now. I like reading books. So I do "SSS Extensive Reading Method".

Children can read native language book. If you do like children, you can read Foreign book. This is a concept of this method. If you start reading difficult book, you get tired of reading. This method recomends to start reading very easy book.

And this method has a goal. It is to read one million words. Japanese have studied English since junior high school. But we read only English text book. Many Japanese don't read so much.

This method has three Golden Rules.

1. No dictionaries while reading.
2. Skip over difficult words and phrases.
3. Quit reading when the book is difficult or boring.

I have done this method since May 2007. I have already read 66 English books and read 1,575,200 words. Recentry, I like reading English books. I would like to continue reading English books.

Mount Fuji in Japan

This is Mount Fuji. It is the highest mountain in Japan at 3776m. It is located west of Tokyo(about 100km from Tokyo). It is fine day,We might see this mountain from tokyo.

Japanese love this mountain for many years. It is very beautiful. It is very famous Hokusai's Ukiyo-e for Mount Fuji.

I went to Hakone in October 2007. Hakone has many good Onsen(hot spring) and good view for Mount Fuji. First day, typhoon hit Hakone, so we couldn't see anything. But second day, it was very fine. So we could see very beautiful Mount Fuji.

This picture was taken that day. We went to Ashinoko Skyline and took a picture from Mikuni Observatory.

The Tomei Expressway is front of Mount Fuji. It connects Tokyo and Nagoya. It has extreme traffic.

Engine-O of Engine Sentai Go-onger

This morning, I was awoken by my sons.

They said, "Hey,Daddy!! We want you to make our Engine-O". Yesterday, I bought Japanese magazine(Television-kun) for children. The Engin-O is a suppliment to the magazine.

This year, New Toei Sentai series are begining. The Title is "Engine Sentai Go-onger". This Engine-O is a main robot of "Engine Sentai Go-onger". Our sons are looking forward to watching Television Sunday morning. They love "Engine Sentai Go-onger" and always sing the opening song.

I would like to study English in the morning, So I said, "I am busy. I have to study English. I have to do iknow !"But, When I start studying English, they wouldn't move from my room and continue saying "Hey, Daddy, please please pleeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaase!!!!"

I had no choice but to make it.

I have been making for two hours. But, I am pleased to see my sons are beaming. This picture is completed paper robot "Engin-O". The height is about 30 cm.
